Hungry Hungry Puppy
Carter has interesting eating habits, for example … He doesn’t eat or drink anything when nobody else is home. So if we got out for a few hours he doesn’t touch his food or water. During the day while I am around he will get a drink after going out but that is it, no food. When H and I sit down to dinner he will stand around and hope that something falls on the floor, and as soon as we are done eating he will wander over to his bowls and have his own dinner.
It is not unusual for Carter to also take in a midnight snack - back in Chicago we would wake up and notice that his food and water bowl emptied themselves in the night. If he was really hungry he had no problem using his paw to throw the bowls around the kitchen to let us know he would like some more.
Well here in Los Angeles there has not been any bowl throwing, yet. But there is loud eating, loud enough to wake us up in the night.
Our space here in L.A. is a little bigger than in Chicago but more open. Last night was the third time that Carter has woken me up from a deep sleep with his eating.
He now has a habit of thrusting his face down into the bowl and coming up with a mouthful of food. He then chomps away at it, and for one reason or another it is quite loud (dry dog food). Loud enough that it wakes me up.
So I wasn’t surprised this morning when his food and water bowl were once again empty.
I hope he learns some manners as he gets older, namely to chew with his mouth shut.

Hey B- I was laughing seeing pic of Carter- and you description of him pushing his bowl around.
The dog walk thing is great- I wish my White Dog was behaving, as it’s very cool to have a ton of dogs walking down the steets.
If you go, give Wonton a pat for me as I think Jim and Celia may be leading the walk this time (Ken and “Dodger Dog” started event but I think he is busy now).

Thanks for the comment - Carter is a funny dog. Pushy around the bowl was cute until he started doing it in the middle of the night. He also had a habit of demanding more food, and when we gave it to him he would look at it and walk away.
I think we are going to check out the dog walk tonight. We tried last month but I think we messed up the date and time.
