On a normal day this is where I would write about going to Sam’s Club yesterday, only to see them tearing it down … Spending a total of six hours in the car to visit three stores. I might even talk about the $60 it cost me to fill up the car, or the $50 bag of food for Carter.
But instead I setting up a series of posts to discuss driving in LA. A few days of posts in order to talk about the insane driving practices in place here and my take why traffic is so bad.
It’s taken me three months of living here to get the entire picture. It’s also taken me three months to question why in the world anyone would go anywhere here considering what you have to do in order to get from point A to point B.
So join me for the next seven days as we talk about Driving in LA: A Newcomers Perspective
I love telling my friends back east how I used to get to a favorite Friday night haunt of mine a few years back:
“Oh it’s so easy. I just take the 210 to the 134 to the 2 to the 110 to the 5 to the 10″
Oh…and have you gotten used to people putting “The” in front of everything? When I was in St. Louis last summer, I told someone to take “The 70″ and they were like “????”
