Noticed a few things here and there yesterday while walking Carter, thought I would share:
- Dear FedEx Delivery Man: We saw you park your truck and load up a cart today at the corner of Olympic and Flower. The cart was piled so high with boxes I am not sure how things weren’t falling all over the place. You crossed Flower and walked towards, well I don’t know where you were going actually. The next time we saw you was two blocks away near Ralphs – you were now quite away from your truck and walking around to who knows where? I don’t think you had delivered anything at that point and now you were walking down 9th. I hope everyone got their packages and I am sure they did. But isn’t it easier to just roll up to a building, drop off the boxes … Go to the next building, park and deliver packages, and keep repeating until the truck is empty. It has to be easier than walking the neighborhood with a cart of packages.
- Dear Guy Doing All the Work at Quiznos: I’ve talked in the past about how long it is taking you and your franchise owners to get the place up and running, and after watching you the last few days I know why. Any time I walk by you are looking at blueprints – if I didn’t know any better you have been looking at blueprints for the last 3 months. Anyhow, you have been laying tile the last few days and nights. You were working late on Saturday night checking the blueprints of course and figuring out the tile work. Four hours after seeing you start the tiles you had a total of five of those bad boys down. On Monday you took all the tiles up, checked the blueprints and started again. Saw you again this afternoon and you had new tiles down, a total of 7 of them. I don’t think Mike Holmes or Bob Villa would speak highly of your work.
- Dear Security at FIDM: If I didn’t know any better there is a small army of you guys guarding the school and the park. What I can’t figure out is what you are protecting? You guys patrol the park for people with dogs but at any time I can see homeless hanging out, couples making out wildly all over the place with kids around. I’ve never ventured in the little entryway off of Grand Street but I see you guys all huddled together plotting the security of the first world. You guys seem nice enough but please don’t stare me down as I walk the public sidewalk. I’m just walking …
Lazy FedEx guy? No way!
That FIDM park doesn’t allow dogs? When I was looking at lofts at Elleven and Luma the agent made a big deal about how it was a great place for dogs… Do they own that whole park?
Nope, Grand Hope Park does not allow dogs. I did some reading and learned that the park may have been built with some public funds, but I am not sure who owns the park. It appears to be managed by FIDM.
And shame on that agent at Lum and Eleven! It’s pretty well known around here that the park is a no no for dogs.
