Remember a few weeks ago when I got a parking ticket? Here is the post in case you forgot but the short story is the meter said FAILED, I parked under the pretense it was legal to do so (explained to me by parking enforcement) and came out to find a $40 ticket.
Two hours after getting the ticket I went to a local office and filled out a form claiming my ticket was issued in error and explaining why.
Today I received a letter saying the aforementioned ticket was issued in error following an investigation. Okay, who are we kidding here I mean there was no real investigation into my ticket and I am not sure the reasoning behind it being forgiven. However I am grateful I won’t have to fork out $40 to the city.
Parking downtown is a serious problem since many buildings don’t have spots for guests. Meter rates are a little steep to begin with in certain zones and I read last week they are going up in certain areas of the core. You can’t walk by a group of meters without seeing a handful of them flashing FAILED and you can’t blame them because they’re old and need to be updated.
But let’s face it, it’s always fun when the little guy wins one.

Good Job! I usually don’t have the patience to “fight City Hall”- but you WON!
BTW- Welcome to LA, ‘quake style!
