Apologies again for the cell phone pic but what can you do.
The other day I was walking home and found myself behind this woman. First the pic, then the breakdown …
Today’s focus is not so much the outfit as it is the accessories.
- The woman is wearing a lot of workout gear: yoga pants, sports bra with an athletic top and Nike running shoes. Maybe she was at the gym prior to this pic being taken, or maybe she just wants to be comfortable.
- You can barely make it out but she has a cup of coffee in her left hand. Nothing says healthy like coffee.
- Her athletic left shoulder is carrying a large handbag. Look, I’m married so I know how ‘important’ it is to have a good bag to carry around all kinds of ’stuff’. I will go a step further and tell you how ‘important’ it is to have a bag made by a well known designer (sarcasm if you didn’t pick it up).
- Now let’s take a look at her right arm. I’ve seen women carry a handbag draped over their forearm. I can’t imagine it’s easier to carry but it probably looks chic. But my friends, that is no handbag hanging on the right arm, that’s a McDonald’s bag. I think it’s great that this woman is hungry and I too enjoy transporting my food in a bag from time to time. But carrying it hung over your arm like a handbag? Is she trying to look fashionable with a McDonald’s bag? I don’t buy the argument that carrying the bag this way is easier using the handles.
So remember, the next time you are trying to make a fasion statement carrying your McDonald’s bag, Ralph’s bag or any other non-handbag, use the handles and save the expensive designer gear for the forearm.
