Random things going on with us or in our neighborhood …
- I saw a production assistant hauling ice this morning from Ralphs back to the Standard Oil building. She had her Project Runway credentials around her neck and it made me wonder, how many weeks does it take to kick a bunch of designers off the show? I want to say they’ve been at it around four weeks now and I can’t imagine they will be here much longer.
- Recently I’ve come to find the television show It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. It’s so wrong on a number of levels yet it’s pretty funny. Thanks to Hulu you can view many of your favorite television shows for free, and it’s all legal! You do know about Hulu, don’t you?
- Speaking of Hulu, they have the season premier of 30 Rock up a full week ahead of it’s air date on NBC.
- Ray LaMontagne is playing The Wiltern next week. I’ve only recently become a fan and would love to check out at least one of the shows.
- Back in Chicago there is a big push for ‘green’ dry cleaners – those that don’t use dangerous chemicals that are known to cause cancer and instead use a European wet system of some kind. It was a pain to track down such a cleaner here in LA but I finally did. You would think with everyone being so environmentally friendly out here more people would be keen on this.
- The building around around the corner/across the street topped off the other day which means the loud and annoying cement pours are most likely complete. Thank goodness …
- There are a million kids attending FIDM now. Okay, not a million but we heard the recent incoming class was close to 1,200. In addition to bringing back tapered jeans and big shoes the kids really love their scarves which is great but confusing considering it’s 90 outside today.
- H and her colleagues had the chance to ride along with an LAPD officer the other night. She came back with some interesting stories, particularly about skid row and the issues surround the area.
- In an effort to be green we stopped using Cascade and went with some special Palmolive formula that was supposed to be good for the environment. Yeah, it’s ruined 3/4 of our dishes by leaving a film we can’t get off. So much for being green …
- Halloween might be my least favorite holiday.
- I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the homeless love Carter.
- How about Obama holding his election night party in Grant Park. Ugh … I think if we lived there still we would go down there, how could you not?
- Friends back in Chicago and Canada, if you want a McDonald’s Angus burger you’re going to have to come visit us … at least for another year.
Here’s some Ray LaMontagne …
Mcd?? You mean to say they wanted to come here for Mcd?? What about in-n-out?? Where else can you get a 4×4 animal style?
PS: nope never eaten one personally.
I always thought that Timm Gunn was much older, must be the grey/silver hair. But give me Anderson Cooper better, that combo of looks, brains and heritage, wow.
yeah those FIDM students you can usually spot them by their choice in dress, be it females or males..lol- and this is not a put down. Love their imagination and creativity.
30 Rock is the only thing on NBC worth watching really.
Halloween is cool, but if you live in the suburbs like me not so much. Thank god for a gated compound
. Really trick or treat at the mall or Beverly Hills..lol
Makes sense MCD has way too many things in their line up now and down the pipeline( trust me I know). They realize that they need to continue to evolve or else snooze and lose.
great post thanks
.
oops forgot….in the meantime Chicago can have some Ball Park ANGUS Beef Franks- delicious!

Liz – We haven’t been to In-and-Out yet either …. I was just saying that the Angus burger is still only going to be available here in California for at least another year. And I haven’t tried that either …
Love/Hate – How great is 30 Rock eh? H is a big Anderson Cooper fan as well … It’s certainly imagination and creativity when talking about the FIDM students and their outfits … A McD’s insider? Don’t tell H
