I woke up this morning to blog posts about possible rain outside, and confirmed this with the National Weather Service. Immediately I got out of bed, grabbed Carter’s leash and hurried our way downstairs.
Of course we missed the rain but it was at least cloudy outside which is a great change. It’s supposed to creep back into the 80s again today with a 30% chance of thunderstorms. I know what 30% means here when you talk about rain – impossible.
This morning we ran into USC Head Football coach Pete Carroll. Coach Carroll was enjoying breakfast around the corner from us and looked relaxed, probably because they are playing 0-7 Washington at home tomorrow.
Yesterday was Carter’s makeover day and things went quite well. Both H and I would like to thank everyone over at Pussy and Pooch for not only a great day in terms of a new cut and style for Carter, but a great event last night over at J Lounge.
Carter spent most of the day at Pussy and Pooch getting a more traditional wheaten cut, you might say a modified wheaten look. Over at the J Lounge we joined a great event featuring a silent auction to benefit the Bark Avenue Foundation, a fashion show featuring cute models and of course dogs such as Carter, and lots of fantastic people in their costumes with pets in tow.
We didn’t get anything worth posting when Carter was making his way down the run way. I should tell you he wasn’t quite sure of the whole thing, the noise and the lights and was quite scared. His tail was down and at one point he sat down and didn’t want to walk. On his way back down the runway he decided to jump off the small stage but eventually got back up. He wasn’t the only dog to do it so that made us feel a little better. All in all he had a great night and we were glad we had the opportunity to participate.
Getting a stretch in before leaving the house in his new look
If you didn’t know it was our hallway you might think he was posing for the judges at Westminster.
Hanging out in the elevator
It’s a little tough to see but they had projections on a giant wall outside the lounge featuring sponsors and before and after photos of the dogs.

The “John Denver” is gone! He looks very handsome anyways.
Wish I coulda been there, sounds like it was fun!
Hi B and H, I think this website is amazing. I guess you could call this journaling. I love all the pics. Is there any of you somewhere? I hope I’m not saying too much…this is my first time responding to a blog. Your mom sent me this. I love it and will put this in my address book. I’m praying for rain as well; LA usually gets more than San Diego. Take care Cuzes. Kathy
oh cute boy, carter! i can see his face now! pussy and pooch doesn’t usually have a grooming service, right? ’cause my girl doggie posse is in dire need of grooming.
ATL – No they don’t have grooming service, just a self wash area that we use frequently. It’s so much easier than wrestling with him in the tub here at home. They flew the groomer in from Sacramento for the event …
Kathleen – Thanks for the comment and it’s great to have you along for the ride.
Lola – Haha the Denver will grow back I’m sure.
Our Granddog looks wonderful! Keep the “Hollywood” look! Next he will be in movies!
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL POOCH! I heard the runway story from Carters gramma M and it was a very entertaining rendition! Very comic. When he makes it to the movies I’ll expect introductions to all the L.A. types!
I wanna be in L.A.!!!!!
