Sorry for the lack of updates, but to say things have been crazy around here would be an understatement.
H is still not feeling well and sleeping all day and night. She’s been working so hard, non-stop over the last few months that I think her body has just crashed the moment she slowed down.
Carter is still not feeling well either. He has been dealing with a bad butt if you know what I mean and we’ve been treating it with rice and ground beef since that has done the trick in the past. He has been going to the bathroom quite a bit the last few days but at least he has been telling us when he needs to go. A quick search of the Internet this morning gave us one more home remedy to try: pumpkin. Grabbed a can this morning and he had a few spoonfuls; I really hope he firms up and get out of his rut. If things aren’t better tomorrow morning we will call the vet and get our little guy over there.
Our Realtor finally made it to our condo this morning. I’m not going to bore you with all the details of the last two days which have been a mess but apparently the damage to the floor isn’t as bad as it could have been. The living room has some slight warping but the kitchen somehow escaped harm. The baseboards are in good shape still which was nice to hear. Our Realtor is going to bring in a floor guy this week and I am going to send one as well, to get a professional opinion and see if it’s worth getting this fixed now. At some point a handyman or plumber will have to hook the fridge back up. It looks like the cause of all this may have been dead batteries in the thermostat – go figure.
The condo is a mess with Christmas stuff all over the place. We didn’t open gifts here until late at night on the 26th but we had a good time and enjoyed ourselves. More laundry is being done today with the Vikings/Giants game on in the background and the Bears being watched online via ESPN.com.
We need some things to start going our way …
Probiotics works for Nina’s sensitive stomach. The vet used to prescribe her some expensive tablets, but he told me I could also buy it OTC. Now, I buy it at the pet store and mix half a capsule in with her food. It’s basically just acidophilous, but I’ve heard of the canned pumpkin remedy too.
Hope Carter and H feel better in time to ring in the new year!
Hey Lola,
Thanks for the suggestion!
Carter seems to be doing a lot better this morning and has stopped pooping (good thing). He also came in from our morning walk and drank some water, along with taking in some of his regular food/rice/chicken.
