You ever have one of those days when you don’t have much to say? Nothing is really new – things aren’t bad and they’re not great.
Today is one of those days.
For a moment I thought writing about all the new graffiti in our neighborhood would be a good topic, and it will, but just not today.
Should I talk politics and get into the idea that Republicans don’t want a stimulus plan giving tax breaks to low income people because they don’t contribute to the tax system (when they probably need more help than anyone). Instead they believe the rich should get more of a break and let things trickle down (Mind you I am still waiting for the trickle down effect of the tax cuts from the previous administration). Ugh, I can’t even vote here who cares what I have to say.
How about the frustration I feel while sending out resumes and not getting a lot of interesting, wondering aloud whether or not my previous career has pigeon-holed me from entering a new line of work? Nobody wants to hear that right? I mean 70,000 people lost their jobs yesterday, the last thing anyone wants or needs is more bad news.
I could tell you about Carter being lazy but that story has been told a hundred times.
You want to talk weather? Same as last time – cold and snowy in the Midwest and East, 75 and sunny here today on the way to 80 this weekend.
Want to hear another idea about our fantasy house? Sheesh, fantasy house … I can’t get a guy to call me back about replacing the floors of the condo we still own in Chicago.
Tax season is here, that would make a good topic except we can’t get started yet because neither one of us have our W2 (T4s for you Canadians) forms yet.
The Dow is up big today, making an effort to recoup some of the $25,000 we lost last year in our mutual funds but what’s the point – this thing is going to play out over 20 years. Not exactly a topic of the day.
I guess this is just one of those days. (I did manage to write 364 words though)
How about…the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
24 miles per hour
Was that an African or a European swallow?
My rufous hummingbird is due this week- to arrive that is. It comes back every year- this will be the 3rd. We call it Cinnamon. If you have never heard a rufous- once you do you’ll never go back to regular hummers!
