Another season of American Idol is in the books – thank goodness. Some guy named Kris won, apparently this is him . . .
I hardly watched the show but I’ve heard everyone sing at least once and I can honestly say that this guy, while a great showman, is one of the most annoying contestants in recent years.
Whenever I saw Adam Lambert he was screaming and screeching and wailing like only he can. I don’t know how much commercial success he will have because nobody wants to hear three and a half minutes of self-indulgent “singing”. If you watch BBC America at all you may know there is an Idol like show over there that has Andrew Lloyd Weber searching for the next Joseph, you know the Technicolor Dream Coat one (not the guy who knew the wise men and Mary). Anyhow, Lambert would be perfect for that show because he has the voice of a Broadway singer in a strange sorta way.
As I write this we are wrapping up our last show of the season with the finale of Law & Order. Later this week we will recap the good, the bad and the ugly of everything we watched.
Of course all of this can only mean one thing – the summer television season is here and H is gearing up for . . . wait for it . . .
We don’t have ShowTime any more but I’m wondering if H will push for us getting the channels for Big Brother After Dark over the summer.
I love Big Brother…i know they are finalizing the cast selection right now- its crazy how they have cast “auditions” mostly in the mid west- they figure they are still eager and hungry for fame and fortune. Not as jaded as the LA,NYC set.
I was and still am a big Jannelle (sp?) and the all stars season fan.
It should start up some times in early or mid July.
I have a friends that have worked on BB and Univision projects and Hells Kitchen, french- who wants to be millionaire and german tv-(i had to “name drop”all this stuff so i would not out or single out one person so i wont get them or me in trouble lol.)
Even i am a bit secretive and just talk in generalizations and im bearly a rookie.
And oh AI- im so over it… its all about popularity.
I think Adam should have won- but i think the majority of the people living in the “fly over states” found him too far out and asexual or metro sexual or gay.
Hes not my type but he looks like he would be fun in bed lol.
I think there are too many Kris Allens … Adam has a beautiful voice and although he was kind of annoying always having to hit those eighties glam rocker notes it was, after all, a singing competition and Adam could sing the best.
Even though he didn’t win Im glad that after the AI tour Adam will be able to put out the album he wants and not something he’s contractually bound to put out.
I just read on PerezHilton that that Adam dude went to my high school.** Hmm..and I still don’t care about that show.
I think the very beginning of the seasons just turns me off. It’s just mean spirited.
I try to stay away from Big Brother in the beginning, because it only takes one show to suck me into its vortex. (small ashamed voice: I used to subscribe to the online feeds.)
**ok, so he was, like, in the 5th grade when I graduated, but still, he’s a fellow Rancho Penasquitos escapee.
