- Is Dick Cheney still in office? I didn’t think so. So why the hell is he speaking all over the country and bashing the current administration. You were Vice-President, you shot a guy, it’s over. Move on.
- Just when I thought our Sprint billing issue was resolved . . . With our recent billing cycle coming to an end I checked online and found out things are all screwed up again.
- Still have to watch some CSI Miami episodes and then we’re closed out for this television season.
- For the first time in almost six years we need to buy toothpaste. You see the cost of a single tube is 5x greater here in the US than Canada for some reason, and my savvy family knows this and early on made sure we were well stocked. Well we’ve finally run dry and must actually spend money on some Colgate, Crest or something else this weekend.
- I need a new casual belt for the first time in almost six years.
- I suppose you could say we tend to make things last.
- The weather has been such that our air conditioning has been on each evening/night so it’s time for the hydro bill to start creeping back into the $90 range.
- The Lakers are still not a good defensive team.
- Still need to book a hotel room for Boston. We’re considering one of the Fairmont properties on Battery Wharf.
- We’ve subconsciously stopped eating US Kraft Dinner because we like the Canadian version so much better.
- The Simpsons stamps are pretty cool.
Have a great Friday!
Re: Dick Cheney- I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday, when they were talking about his speech yesterday on NPR. I don’t think I heard nearly as much out of/about him while he was actually in office…he sure is a noisy backpeddler.
RE: Sprint – I am counting down the days til my contract is up. C-ya Sprint…
The other B. makes a very good – home-made- mac & cheese, I’ll have him send you the recipe
Have a wonderful Memorial Day
Can’t stand Cheney his first name suits him heheheheh
well, as much as we hate cheney, that’s what is still great about this country, that people could come out on television and talk shit about the current government.
seriously, i think it’s more important to enjoy THAT freedom, which is disappearing more and more every day, than be pissed about what some psycho is saying on telelvision.
Considering that Obama is the one doing the backpedaling and quietly maintaining some of the defense policies of the Bush administration, I’d say that Cheney has some reason to make a few waves. And, besides, he only reached the level of vice president, and so the unwritten rule that a former president avoids speaking ill of his successor doesn’t apply. By contrast, I recall Bill Clinton publicly sniffing about his successor not too long after 2001, and Jimmy Carter being the biggest loudmouth of them all in knocking those conservative presidents he has disagreed with through the years.
As for Kraft cheese, or anything from Kraft Foods, I think of overprocessed, semi-synthetic junk food, born and bred in the Midwest. No wonder Americans, particularly from the corn belt, are so notoriously obese.
Our toothpaste is so expensive because it has magic dust that makes our teeth so much more healthy…. except when it doesn’t! Jake says it’s expensive to make flashy packaging embossed with metallic materials. Maybe that’s why it’s so expensive.
How much is a tube of toothpaste in Canada?
KRAFT mac and cheese sucks it….it really isn’t too hard to grate cheese, boil pasta and make a simple cheese sauce, It really isn’t.
Dick Cheney is flappin his mouth- big deal. They ALL do it.
FANTASTIC weather!
Lola – Who are you thinking of switching to?
Rich – Apparently it’s on sale all the time at local drug stores and goes for 50-75 cents a tube.
Christine – We were up your way this weekend and thought of you! H doesn’t mind homemade Mac and Cheese but I am loyal to the over-processed stuff right out of the box
Where did you go??? Wine tasting or just cruizing? You better post what you guys did, and what you enjoyed! I hope you had a great time and were able to bring your pooch- and that he was welcomed.
I make a special batch of mac & cheese for “friends” thanksgiving- and it runs me about $40.00 for a crockpot full- the high end cheese makes it rock- smoked gouda makes anything taste better!!! We stock mac and cheese in the box- we have a kid!- I insist it be the kind with the bag of liquid cheese- at least that tastesbetter than powdered cheese. We love orange food- mangos, oranges and doritos…
You have my curiosity about your visit! Post pics!
Rich Alossi ….
B is correct, someone always has a special on toothpaste.
This week Zellers (they are somehow hooked up with Target) has Colgate Premium 75 ml for $1.00
WalMart has Colgate Total 130ml for $1.50
Regular Colgate is usually 75 ml for .82 cents
Close Up is usually 100 ml for .93 cents
I didn’t see Crest on sale but that could very well be next weeks special!!
