So we were watching the latest season of So You Think You Can Dance last night which means only one thing in all honesty – Kat Deeley is back!
She’s easily the best host on television today. Kat is funny, engaging and doesn’t take herself seriously. There is no catch phrase (Seacrest out!), she just interacts with people and seems to have a great time.
So the auditions were held down the street at the Orpheum Theater. This is a nice shot of the theater signage I found online.
Unfortunately for downtown Los Angeles they did not show such shots when they gave us a peek of the people in line. Broadway was shown with all the buildings locked up and shutters down. The sidewalks looked dirty and knowing the area I couldn’t believe people were rolling around amongst the urine and God knows what else.
Having said that it’s always great to see events and shows utilizing downtown Los Angeles. Movie and television studios, commercial shoots and many other “Hollywood things” have made downtown their home for decades. I certainly hope they continue to be welcomed in the area and play a role in the maturing of the core.
I too saw some of- So You Think You Can Dance..i love when we get peeks of the Orpheum- inside and out.
I cannot really stand the British judge- Nigel, snippy and looks like skelator..lol
Kat on the other hand is easy on the eyes. She kind of looks a bit like Blake Lively (Serena from Gossip Girl).
I was lucky enough to go inside the Orpheum back in the 90s, this was before the remodeling and when it still was a movie house.
Lets just say it is so so much better now in every way.
